Puss N' Boots

I just had to get the Halloween info down here for everyone. It was Mia's first trick or treating experience; she was mostly excited to get candy.

It was hilarious. She would get to the door... "Ok, knock?"
"Yeah, baby.. Knock hard!"
Two or 3 gentle knocks.
"Knock again?"
"go! Harder!"
Better knocks. SO cute. Then they came and she just gasped with delight because they had a dish full of candy, she
tried to walk into their house because she thought we were coming over to play, and when I said, "What do you say?" to prompt her to say "trick or treat" like we'd practiced.. She just said, "Thank you!" Which was great too. And very funny. She also said a hearty "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" as we left the houses.

Her favorite thing were the lit up pumpkins & decorations. She did like going out at night.. In hindsight I should've gotten her a glowstick or flashlight or something. Oh well, it was all of about 1/2 an hour, and she probably would've wanted to sleep with the glowstick.

When we got home, I let her pick out one thing, it was a tootsie pop. Then I took the bucket & put it on the counter.
2 seconds after that... "HEEEEYYY!! That's MIIIIIINE!!"
I dumped the candy on the counter. There really wasn't much, 2 lollipops, a Reese's stick, a mini-Hershey bar, 2 tootsie rolls, a mini-Snickers, a mini-Almond Joy and a tiny bag of gummy bears that Deeba her babysitter gave her last
night.

I gave her the empty candy basket... All hell broke loose. I dealt with about a 5-minute tantrum that felt like 20
minutes, and stated (looking at her with a licked lollipop in her hand), "I'm taking the lollipop away if you can't get a hold of yourself. Stop crying or I will take the lollipop away." After reinforcing this a couple of times, she stopped crying. Proof positive that she isn't totally out of control. She ate the tootsie pop very happily & stickily (probably a few carpet hairs & such in it).

She had a ball. This morning she was content to eat her cereal and go to school. Even though she was up at 6:20 AM... she has not adjusted to daylight savings time... surprise surprise. Wonder how long this will take!
